The BAK-6.0 shaver works best on hair that is less than 2mm long. Shaving longer hair may work, but we don’t recommend it because it may irritate the skin and shorten the life of the shaver head. Shaving longer hair will also make the shaver harder to clean. Shaving once or twice per week will keep the hair under 2mm.


Using Bakscape once or twice a week will maintain a smooth clean look for most users.


No. According to many sources including Lawrence E. Gibson, M.D., shaving hair doesn’t change it’s thickness, color or rate of growth. Shaving facial or body hair gives the hair a blunt tip. The tip might feel coarse or “stubby” for a time as it grows out. During this phase, the hair might be more noticeable and perhaps appear darker or thicker, but in actuality it’s not.

Waxing: Ouch! Aside from the enormous amount of pain that no one should endure, the annual cost to get a smooth back with waxing sessions comes in around $1,200.00 – $1,400.00.

Laser Hair Removal Treatments: Laser hair removal treatments are also extremely painful (Ow!) and expensive at $450 per visit. Most patients will undergo several rounds of treatment (more $$$), and results will widely vary from person to person.

Electric Trimmer: Electric trimmers are fine for longer hair, but never leave you with a smooth finish. And you need a second person to reach most areas of your back. So if you are alone, they are useless for a complete back shave.

Chemicals: Chemicals will simply just dissolve the hair. You must have someone else apply the chemicals, wait 15 minutes and then rinse it off. Once the chemicals are rinsed off you may need to further shave or pull the remaining hairs that did not initially get dissolved. There is a risk of severe irritation and even scarring using chemicals. Not a process you’ll do very often.

Razors: Tricky at best. A razor only shaves in one direction, making shaving your back a time- consuming task. Also, ask anyone who has shaved their back with a razor and how often they have cut themselves, especially if they have any skin tags or moles.

How do I use the shaver?

The Shaver can be used dry or it can be used with Bakscape shaving soap in the shower.

Attach the shaver to the Bakscape Stick.

Hold the Shaver in the palm of your hand. Press the On/Off switch to turn the shaver on.

If using wet in the shower, apply shaving soap directly to the Shaving Head.

Press the Shaving Head against your skin. It is not necessary to press hard to shave. Pressing hard does not cut closer and could increase irritation. The Shaving Head will flex to follow the contours of your body.

Move the Shaver slowly around your body. You may use linear strokes, or rotating motion, whichever feels most effective.

Use a hand held mirror to check the back of your body to confirm a complete and thorough shave. Use your free hand to feel for complete and consistent cutting.

When finished turn the Shaver off. Check for the blinking red Charging LED.

Is the BAK 6.0 Shaver Waterproof? Can I use it in the shower?

Yes. Our shavers are made to be used in the shower and meet the IEC’s IPX4 rating which protects against splashing water from any direction. While our shavers have been tested for a variety of conditions, due care should be taken when handling electrical devices near water.

Do not operate the shaver when completely submerged in water.

How do I charge my BAK-6.0 Shaver?

The shaver comes with a cord to plug into any standard USB port (USB charge block not included) 

2 hours to fully charge, 90 minutes of shaving time.

Before using, read the important safety instructions in the manual.

Ensure the Shaver is switched off. Connect the shaver to the charging cable, and the charging cable to a USB port. 

Charge for 2 hours when using for the first time. The first charge is important to the shaver’s battery life.

When plugged in, the Charging LED will light up Red.

When the battery is fully charged, the Charging LED will turn off.

To preserve the life of the battery: Do not charge the battery after each use. The best practice is to use the shaver until the Battery LED flashes red. It is best to unplug the Charging Cable once the battery is fully charged, do not leave the Charging Cable connected for longer than 24 hours.

When in use the Battery LED will light up Green. On a full charge, the battery will provide up to 90 minutes of shaving time.

The battery LED will light up red when the shaver needs to be recharged.

How do I clean the shaver?

Like all rotary shavers, they should be emptied and cleaned after each use.

Open each shaver head, empty clippings and rinse.   

How long will my Precision Shave Head last?

It is important to replace the shaving head when necessary to continue a close, comfortable shave without irritation. For the smoothest results, we recommend replacing your Precision Shave Head every 6-12 weeks.

Replacement is likely needed if you start to notice these signs of wear:

Irritation: As the head get excessively worn you may experience some skin irritation. This could be especially noticeable when applying moisturizing lotion.

Pulling: When the shaving head is worn, you may feel a sense of pulling and a loss of closeness when you shave. This is an indication that it is time to replace

What does the Shave Soap do?

Using the shave soap makes for a much smoother, more comfortable, and more effective shave. You can shave dry of course, but users tell us it’s a 100% better experience with our Shave Soap.

Are the Shave Soap + After Balm Cruelty Free?
